FOR 16 APRIL (LATHYRA) 2016

LOCATION ♘
Built in the 15th century to fend off invaders from the south, Fort Graupera is a site of strategic, historic and cultural importance. The fusion of Noir and later Othellian architectural styles speak volumes about Capablanca’s rich history of war and trade with Othello. An old reminder of wars past, Graupera has been revived and restored to its former glory to face the wars of the present. From the island, there is a breathtaking view of Capablanca’s beautiful coast, serving as a constant reminder of what its soldiers were fighting for.

Features:
SIGN-UPS ♘
Characters must form Heroic crews of 2 to 4 members for the naval battle. Participation in the war preparations, the shore battle and the aftermath is free-for-all, as well as parts of the naval battle depending on your player outcomes. Parties are ICly assigned, but OOCly up to player choice. Sign-ups are here. If you would like your crew members to be randomized, comment here.
Should you choose not to form a crew, you will still be able to participate in the campaign by contributing in the war preparations and the shore battle. Stop Noir from its attempt to breach Fort Graupera! Those who were knocked off from the ships may find themselves doing the very same.
Each Heroic crew member has a designated role on their ship. The positions are:
Desired Outcome ♘
For every war event, we will let YOU—the players—write the game’s story. We will be conducting a poll before each war log and letting our playerbase vote on their desired outcome for the upcoming battle.
For this first war log, the victory will go to Blanc. This will not always be the case for future battles and may involve needing your vote to determine a Blanc or Noir victory.
What you will be voting for is how successful this campaign will be. The result depends on majority vote, and then Blanc and the Heroes will be rewarded or penalized accordingly.
Full access to Graupera, including:
Reputation: The Heroes of Blanc will receive a significant reputation boost because of Blanc’s overwhelming victory. More people will recognize you on the street now!
♞If Fort Graupera is breached (Player Vote: Yes)
Delayed access to Graupera: Although not destroyed, the fortress will suffer high damage and will have to be repaired again. This will take at least a month.
Reputation: Despite the near destruction of Graupera, Blanc’s victory means the Heroes of Blanc will receive a reputation boost. More people will recognize you on the street now!
The war log will go up on the 16th. All questions about the war may be directed here. Feel free to use this post to plot as well!

Each Heroic crew member has a designated role on their ship. The positions are:
- Coxswain - The ship’s defense. In charge of controlling the ship’s mana shield. Turn the shield on to block enemy projectiles, then turn it off so your allies can attack! When the shield’s mana supply is low, be prepared to repel attacks by any means possible. Coxswains may also have to assist in navigating the ship. There may be more than one coxswain. Requirements: steering, great timing and a good sense of direction. Quick reflexes, endurance or barrier magic might help!
- Gunner’s mate - The ship’s offense. In charge of ship’s cannons, armaments and other methods of attack. There may be more than one gunner’s mate. Requirements: fighting skill and stamina, a large mana pool (especially for offensive magic specialists), great aim and guts!
- Quartermaster - The ship’s support. Handles supplies, treats injured crew members and repairs ship damages. There may be more than one quartermaster. Requirements: good at multitasking, healing magic/medical knowledge. Knowledge of ship technology optional.
- The captain and the rest of the ship’s crew members are Blanc navy NPCs. Feel free to control them in your threads.

What you will be voting for is how successful this campaign will be. The result depends on majority vote, and then Blanc and the Heroes will be rewarded or penalized accordingly.
POLL: Do you want the island fort, Graupera, to be breached?♞ If Fort Graupera is not breached (Player Vote: No)
If YES, Heroes will get a chance to fight Noir soldiers inside Graupera itself. The island fort will be severely damaged.
If NO, Heroes will remain fighting mainly on the ocean and Graupera’s shores. Apart from superficial repairs, the island fort will remain intact.
Please cast your votes here!
Full access to Graupera, including:
- Part-time jobs related to Capablanca AND Graupera. Heroes will be getting continuous job offers since they have proven their worth and reliability, no matter how difficult the task.
- Permanent Hero Housing: Heroes get their very own jail-sized room, fully customizable, as a second home away from Caissa.
- Functioning Hero Ship Port: Got a ship you borrowed? You can park it here. Explore nearby islands within Capablancan territorial waters.
- Part-time jobs related to Graupera ONLY: These one-time jobs will be related to Graupera’s reconstruction. Heroes will have to apply for part-time work the long, grueling way like every other citizen in Blanc.
- Temporary Hero Housing: Until Graupera is repaired, Heroes will have military tents on Graupera for days they choose to stay there.
- Non-functioning Hero Ship Port, as you need to wait for Graupera’s reconstruction.
Reputation: Despite the near destruction of Graupera, Blanc’s victory means the Heroes of Blanc will receive a reputation boost. More people will recognize you on the street now!
The war log will go up on the 16th. All questions about the war may be directed here. Feel free to use this post to plot as well!
