♔ STATE OF THE GAME

It is with heavy hearts that we announce, as of today, Crosscheck will be closing its doors.

We’ll try to keep this short and sweet: for a variety of reasons, the game has slowed to such a pace that it is no longer manageable. Holiday sluggishness, jarring transitions in the moderating staff, and other conflicts have led us to this point. While it was suggested that we offer a State of the Game post, we have personally assessed the situation and concluded we can no longer lead the game as it is and dwindling numbers would make it unfeasible to try.

Overall, we’d like to apologize for the lack of communication, and stress that it was no single person or problem that contributed to the decay. Rather, we believe the general climate of Dreamwidth RP can make it difficult for games to survive, and Crosscheck was caught in the crossfire, as it were. As the old saying goes: it is what it is.

You are welcome to wrap up your threads as you see fit. If any of our players are interested in taking up the game’s reins, we encourage them to do so, and they may contact us for further information.

It has been a pleasure moderating and playing with each and every one of you. We wish you all the very best in your endeavors moving forward, both RP-related and otherwise.
