APRIL (LATHYRA) 2016
You want to do your best for Blanc! Or maybe you just want cold, hard colle. Either way, you have a lot of work to do in the sunny shores of Capablanca!
After the previous month of hard work, some townsfolk has become a little more appreciative of the lengths the Heroes are willing to go for them, especially those encountered while doing the jobs. Thanks to your hard work, Blanc has arrested most traitors who had a hand in the fall of Palamede. Noir won't let you catch a break, though; keep an eye out for those that got away!
There are no slot limit to jobs and you can do them any way you like! To help keep track of things, please sign up in the comments below and feel free to use this post to plot! We’ll be adding more jobs to the list on the 18th!
♟ Fort Graupera’s Help Wanted Board
Vessel of Hope Requester
CélestineRequester Location
GrauperaDate Available
04/20 - 04/30Quest Location
Graupera“My Papa, Ernest… he didn’t return like he promised to. And Mama is too sad to make a boat for him. Can you please help me? I don’t think there’s anyone else who could...”
A Hero isn’t only meant to protect with their weapons. Sometimes, a Hero is one who comforts with words and actions. Those who fell in the naval battle must pass on honorably and Heroes have been invited to participate. This serves as a reminder of the many people that have placed their hopes and dreams on their Heroes, and those who have faith deserve to be respected as they are laid to rest.
Mourners will spend their late afternoons crafting boats small enough to fit snugly in both hands. They may be decorated with seashells, glass shards, or remain entirely plain — it’s entirely up to you. What really matters is the light which must be placed inside the boats: a candle, a lantern, a glowing rock, and so on. Whatever that illuminates the dark waves would need to be fastened before sun down. By then, all the boats will be sent sailing altogether to brighten the horizon. The light is said to guide the departed to their next destination — their next great adventure.Reward
700 colle on success and a wishing talisman
A Six-Pack Is Worth A Thousand Pictures Requester
Preston CloakRequester Location
GresserDate Available
04/20 - 04/30Quest Location
Gresser“You were so close! ...now, if you can get them to flex just a little bit… to capture the scene when the sweat rolls down their biceps… That would be fantastic!!”
The picturesque town of Gresser is a modest one, but it is by no means humble! To ride on Capablanca’s tourism low, the people have decided to create puzzles out of their town’s breathtaking scenery. However, most townspeople are either busy in the fields or simply don’t know how to frame a shot, much less operate a camera. That’s where you come in, Heroes. Help make this project a success!
Your job is to take photos of anything that can be found in the town of Gresser: the colorful farmlands, the pristine lakes, the folksy architecture, the gorgeous animals, the beautiful people, the delicious cuisine, the beautiful people, the friendly locals, and did we mention the beautiful people? The more beautiful and unique your submission is, the higher price it will fetch among the locals. In addition, capturing a rare specimen on camera will net you double or even triple the colle from researchers! Maybe you should be taking your search for elves more seriously.
Aside from receiving your dues and a puzzle of your best submission, you will also receive seeds. You can plant them, eat them, but they’re also useful in Gresser, where they serve as hint tokens. Answering riddles and puzzles are how people pay for services in the quaint, quirky town, so you can turn these seeds in if you’re stumped on a real toughie! The harder the riddle, the more seeds it will need.
One more thing: cameras will be provided, but break one and you owe the town 4000 colle! You have the option to work your debt away at their many farms, but the locals are really fond of stopping you to answer new riddles of their own creation.Reward
200-800 colle per photo submitted (depending on photo quality and rarity), a puzzle game of your best submission, and 15 seeds
♟ Poisoned Pawn’s Help Wanted Board
Rebuild Palamede! Requester
Thierry ToussaintRequester Location
White RoseDate Available
03/22 - 04/30Quest Location
Palamede“Remember to wear your safety gear! We have much to do to help our friends.”
Remember that little trip to the exhibition which happened a couple of weeks ago? Where everything went to hell? All things considered, Heroes might not feel inclined to return. Recently, however, Teddy has received reports of slow progress in recovery and rebuilding efforts. While most of the mess has been cleaned up and the hallways are now free of rubble and angrily bleating sheep, there is still no end in sight. Pieces of stone and wood are missing from the walls, windows are shattered and you’ll be lucky not to fall right through the floor! Heroes who know a little bit of carpentry or are willing to help the professionals will find their aid more than welcome. A willingness to do a great deal of heavy lifting helps, too.
Those who don’t? Actual cleaning isn’t that hard and armed with a mop and a bucket full of water, any old Hero can help the struggling inhabitants, whose eyes still seem haunted and hollow. Don’t be surprised of someone bursts into tears while they mop up the blood in a certain spot, it’s quite likely they’ve lost a family member there or were severely injured themselves. Others might refrain from entering specific areas of the exhibition, either by their own choice or because they’ve frozen solid out of fear. It seems the wounds the attack left behind are far from superficial and not easily mended.
Everyone who tries to enter the eastern wing will be warned by locals that it has become entirely too unstable. Parts of the high ceiling are missing and pieces of wood and bits of stone rain down in random bursts. Consulting Teddy about this will lead to the painful decision to tear the entire wing down and Heroes of all specializations, be it magical or physical, will be asked to help. If a Hero happens to know something about architecture, the local architecture team assigned to the exhibition will be happy for any input.
Those sensible enough to look around may find not only the building in dire need of help but also the people. Some walk around hollow eyed and are jumpy, prone to shrinking away when someone approaches too quickly and accidentally looms. Others may react with anger and accusations, feebly wondering if it is that particular Hero’s fault that their father will never walk again or that their child is now having to learn how to live with only one arm. If they had tried just a little harder, moved a little faster, it wouldn’t have happened! Reacting with anger will only negatively impact the Heroes’ reputation so patience is the key here.
Influenced by the above, creative Heroes who enjoy singing, dancing or possibly those who know magician tricks will obtain the opportunity to soothe the peoples’ hearts through a broadcast. They will be given the opportunity to sing about healing wound, about learning how to stand again and breathe through the hurt sitting in their core. They will be allowed to dance to distract the people from their pain, tears and worries and the children will be absolutely delighted if someone shows them card tricks.
Healing is a slow process.Reward

♟ Capablanca
Constance Annoyance Requester
Constance, an inventorRequester Location
MenchikDate Available
04/04 - 04/15Quest Location
Capablanca“For all of Menchik’s ideas and advancement, they really don’t come up with new things these days. My ideas are clearly superior and I cannot wait to point out how Menchik is nothing but a way of backwards thinking, stinking old men who— Wait, where are you going?”
All for one and one for all! Capablanca does not have to stand alone and Menchik has made it their job to ensure that Capablanca receives nothing but the best supplies for the upcoming battle. The inventors of Menchik have spared every piece of metal they could part with and need someone to make sure it arrives safely in Capablanca.
Constance herself will be overseeing the travels and she is quite serious about her supplies arriving without a single scratch, nay, a single smudge of dirt! This is one demanding client and it seems she will talk to anyone who happens to stumble into her vicinity about the special gear she has been working on. She is quite happy to praise herself on her genius! The one thing she will not praise is the weather though, it keeps getting more and more windy and dark clouds seem to be building up in the distance...
The supplies consist of valuable machine parts and with everything of value, it is much sought after. Add a heap of ammunition and explosives and every little bandit between Menchik and Capablanca wants to get their hands on it.
The roads between Capablanca and Menchik are treacherous with many unstable roads due to the nearby lakes and bandits are sure to pop out of the few forest areas between the cities. They have set up traps in advance and the ambushes are not to be underestimated. There is only so much patriotism a bandit can feel! Money is their one true love.Reward
1500 colle on success
Actually, It Better Be Raw Requester
Dongor Sayram, a chefRequester Location
PetrosianDate Available
04/04 - 04/15Quest Location
Capablanca“You’re spoiling its flavor! Here, give me that— Better yet, throw it away because it’s garbage!”
If you’re hungry and you know it clap your hands! ...Well, the soldiers who were sent to Capablanca in preparation for the coming battle certainly will be. Chef Sayram is willing to pay Heroes in colle and food for resources like herbs, mushrooms and other foraged and edible items. Fairies living in the nearby fields may be willing to share bee nest locations with the truly brave who wish to acquire nothing but the best honey for the very grumpy chef with high standards. You better hurry with the honey, too, because rain is threatening to fall quite soon and frankly, the temperatures seem oddly high for this time of year… Thunder rumbles in the distance.
A storm is coming.
Speaking with the concerned looking fruit farmers living on the outskirts may yield an apple of two but the fish living in the rivers are plentiful this time of year and you’re better off trying your luck there. After all, Petrosian is well known for their seafood cuisine. You better believe that it’s exactly what the soldiers in Capablanca are expecting!
Careful, though: Chef Sayram will be none too pleased if the ingredients have been handled too roughly. An herb you accidentally squished? A dented apple? Mushrooms which are not meant for consumption, you imbecile? You better believe you’ll get an earful.
Cooking is no laughing matter. It is serious business.Reward
100-800 colle on success/per item turnover (pay varies depending on item quality) and a delicious lunchbox
Obligatory Beach Episode Requester
Alexandre VerdoniRequester Location
CapablancaDate Available
03/22 - 04/15Quest Location
Capablanca“The methods you employ are not my concern. I want these traitors found before Noir comes knocking!”
We hope you enjoyed your cruise aboard the Airy, because Secretary Verdoni is going to need you to get off your ass and be useful to the war effort. Heroes assigned to this job will be flown to the seaside town of Capablanca. Unfortunately, they won’t have much time to enjoy the beach or the sun: Blanc’s intel says will be the site of the first real battle in the new war. Noir’s navy has already regrouped since the last attack and is readying itself for a renewed assault.
Heroes will be joining the current defenses deployed in the city, as well as searching for clues leading to the Blanc traitors and Noir spies believed to have smuggled false goods and live mana crystals primed for magical mayhem into the Narcissa Expo. If possible, they may also investigate the current status and strength of the Noir navy.
Capablanca, being a resort city, isn’t particularly well-defended or fortified. To that end, Blanc has already established a temporary military base and increased naval and security presence in the city’s bustling harbor and streets as best they could. Heroes will find upon arrival that the enemy isn’t just without: many locals are pretty displeased with having severe military encampments and enforced curfews ruin their sun-and-sand time. It’s terrible for tourism! The average Capablancan won’t be much help to our Heroes with supplies or information. On the other hand, if you slip enough colle under the table, the Othellian underworld just may have an offer you wouldn’t want to refuse…
As for looking into the Noir navy and the situation on the high seas, no one knows the water better than the ones who live in it. The thriving mercommunity off Capablanca’s shores is not only an essential part of the city’s economy—they are also the first thing sailors consult before casting off and have an information network all their own. These mermaids are tourist-shy, so you'll have to work a little harder to get them talking. You can never go wrong with offerings of gems and other shiny, colorful objects. However, be aware that the mafia and the mercommunity are at odds to the point where interacting extensively with one will likely get you shunned in the other.
Heroes should watch their backs and their drinks regardless of whether or not they initiate contact with the locals. Heroic mana is a hot commodity on the market right now, and there are whispers of Othellian smuggling rings that will sell anything, dead or alive, for the right price.Reward
