JOB POST
MARCH (NARCISSA) 2016

You want to do your best for Blanc! Or maybe you just want cold, hard colle. Either way, the boards at the Hall of Glory or the Poisoned Pawn are your best bets: these short memos list a brief job description and the location where the requester can be found. There aren’t a lot of jobs available yet, but if you do your best, more and more citizens should start offering. ... Hopefully!

After the previous month of hard work, some townsfolk has become a little more appreciative of the lengths the Heroes are willing to go for them, especially those encountered while doing the jobs. Remember the kids at the orphanage? They still sing your snowman’s praises and wave to the Heroes whenever they walk past. And the guy who grumbled about the toys littering the ice canal? He is all smiles and everyone who spends more than five minutes with him will have their ears talked off about how much the Heroes helped. And once the lost items have been returned to their original owners, they always make sure to put in a good word at the market’s stalls.

Almost everyone else? There are lingering suspicions and they’re still watching with a very critical eye. Talk about being ungrateful! Generally, the mood seems to have mellowed though and behind closed doors, trust is beginning to build. If Heroes pay careful attention and do their best to do the currently available jobs properly, this will be the last push needed to open Caissa’s gates...

There are no slot limit to jobs and you can do them any way you like! To help keep track of things, please sign up in the comments below and feel free to use this post to plot! We’ll be adding more jobs to the list on the 22nd!

“The children loved you all at the snowball fight last month. If you could come and talk with them for a bit, it would be much appreciated. Oh, and is the one with the arms coming?”

Our Heroes are being asked to go on a school tour for Meet and Greet sessions for children all over Caissa! Be prepared for grabby hands and wide-eyed wonder. They haven’t only asked the Heroes to come over and give piggyback rides, though. Lately, some of the older students been chatting excitedly about a mana potion which supposedly gives them the power to become a Hero! It’s a ploy made by colle-hungry gentlemen and it would be much appreciated if Heroes could explain that the mana potion? Not worth spending your precious pocket money on. Who knows, maybe telling the children about the world where the Heroes came from will clear up lingering doubts and misunderstandings.
Reward
200 colle per hour and a random magical potion
Obligatory Beach Episode
Requester
Alexandre Verdoni
Requester Location
White Rose
Date Available
03/22 - 04/15
Quest Location
Capablanca
“The methods you employ are not my concern. I want these traitors found before Noir comes knocking!”

We hope you enjoyed your cruise aboard the Airy, because Secretary Verdoni is going to need you to get off your ass and be useful to the war effort. Heroes assigned to this job will be flown to the seaside town of Capablanca. Unfortunately, they won’t have much time to enjoy the beach or the sun: Blanc’s intel says will be the site of the first real battle in the new war. Noir’s navy has already regrouped since the last attack and is readying itself for a renewed assault.

Heroes will be joining the current defenses deployed in the city, as well as searching for clues leading to the Blanc traitors and Noir spies believed to have smuggled false goods and live mana crystals primed for magical mayhem into the Narcissa Expo. If possible, they may also investigate the current status and strength of the Noir navy.

Capablanca, being a resort city, isn’t particularly well-defended or fortified. To that end, Blanc has already established a temporary military base and increased naval and security presence in the city’s bustling harbor and streets as best they could. Heroes will find upon arrival that the enemy isn’t just without: many locals are pretty displeased with having severe military encampments and enforced curfews ruin their sun-and-sand time. It’s terrible for tourism! The average Capablancan won’t be much help to our Heroes with supplies or information. On the other hand, if you slip enough colle under the table, the Othellian underworld just may have an offer you wouldn’t want to refuse…

As for looking into the Noir navy and the situation on the high seas, no one knows the water better than the ones who live in it. The thriving mercommunity off Capablanca’s shores is not only an essential part of the city’s economy—they are also the first thing sailors consult before casting off and have an information network all their own. These mermaids are tourist-shy, so you'll have to work a little harder to get them talking. You can never go wrong with offerings of gems and other shiny, colorful objects. However, be aware that the mafia and the mercommunity are at odds to the point where interacting extensively with one will likely get you shunned in the other.

Heroes should watch their backs and their drinks regardless of whether or not they initiate contact with the locals. Heroic mana is a hot commodity on the market right now, and there are whispers of Othellian smuggling rings that will sell anything, dead or alive, for the right price.
Reward
2000 colle and a box of beignets for relevant information, 50-150 colle from nosy neighbors otherwise

Poisoned Pawn’s Help Wanted Board

Herb Picking!
Requester
Alix, an alchemist
Requester Location
Atelier Caissa
Date Available
03/05 - 03/15
Quest Location
Around Caissa
“There’s some wild winter herbs we’re running out of. Please gather them before the plants die out.”

Heroes have been tasked with collecting herbs all around Caissa. Rarer ones only grow in specific locations and rumor has it that one of the herbs the alchemist asked for is only found in Lisbrand’s bedroom… It’s probably not worth the laps you’ll be forced to run. But watch out: if a Hero is brave enough to pluck up precious herbs from private gardens and properties, they’ll get scolded by the owners and the resulting gossip will harm your reputation!

Plants in good health and with the roots still attached will fetch a higher price than the ones whose leaves are already drooping and withering away. Alix the Alchemist will also look terribly sad at the maltreatment of such precious plants…! They have feelings too, you know!
Reward
100-600 colle on success/per item turnover (pay varies depending on item quality and rarity)
Rebuild Palamede!

Quest Location
Palamede
“Remember to wear your safety gear! We have much to do to help our friends.”

Remember that little trip to the exhibition which happened a couple of weeks ago? Where everything went to hell? All things considered, Heroes might not feel inclined to return. Recently, however, Teddy has received reports of slow progress in recovery and rebuilding efforts. While most of the mess has been cleaned up and the hallways are now free of rubble and angrily bleating sheep, there is still no end in sight. Pieces of stone and wood are missing from the walls, windows are shattered and you’ll be lucky not to fall right through the floor! Heroes who know a little bit of carpentry or are willing to help the professionals will find their aid more than welcome. A willingness to do a great deal of heavy lifting helps, too.

Those who don’t? Actual cleaning isn’t that hard and armed with a mop and a bucket full of water, any old Hero can help the struggling inhabitants, whose eyes still seem haunted and hollow. Don’t be surprised of someone bursts into tears while they mop up the blood in a certain spot, it’s quite likely they’ve lost a family member there or were severely injured themselves. Others might refrain from entering specific areas of the exhibition, either by their own choice or because they’ve frozen solid out of fear. It seems the wounds the attack left behind are far from superficial and not easily mended.

Everyone who tries to enter the eastern wing will be warned by locals that it has become entirely too unstable. Parts of the high ceiling are missing and pieces of wood and bits of stone rain down in random bursts. Consulting Teddy about this will lead to the painful decision to tear the entire wing down and Heroes of all specializations, be it magical or physical, will be asked to help. If a Hero happens to know something about architecture, the local architecture team assigned to the exhibition will be happy for any input.

Those sensible enough to look around may find not only the building in dire need of help but also the people. Some walk around hollow eyed and are jumpy, prone to shrinking away when someone approaches too quickly and accidentally looms. Others may react with anger and accusations, feebly wondering if it is that particular Hero’s fault that their father will never walk again or that their child is now having to learn how to live with only one arm. If they had tried just a little harder, moved a little faster, it wouldn’t have happened! Reacting with anger will only negatively impact the Heroes’ reputation so patience is the key here.

Influenced by the above, creative Heroes who enjoy singing, dancing or possibly those who know magician tricks will obtain the opportunity to soothe the peoples’ hearts through a broadcast. They will be given the opportunity to sing about healing wound, about learning how to stand again and breathe through the hurt sitting in their core. They will be allowed to dance to distract the people from their pain, tears and worries and the children will be absolutely delighted if someone shows them card tricks.

Healing is a slow process.
Reward
1500 colle on success and a teddy bear in hero costume

aaaa forgive the belatedness!

but souji will be checking out the seaside markets and the beach. he'd be pretty interested to see what kind of food there is at the market (more singing fish sandwiches?) so even without a clue, he hopes to find some weird things to eat...

oh my god, souji is going to die...

but thanks, mods! just one quick question, if that's okay! if souji does find something like a diamond or anything valuable like that, would the vendors want them back, not know that they were in there, would someone (civilian or mafioso) come looking for it, would souji be told to hand it in to the good guys, or does he keep it?

pretty much, what happens when he finds something that is obviously worth some good money?
